The lesson on December 3, 2023 was part 16 of the study in “Wisdom”. Proverbs 15 is covered in this lesson.  This chapter is about the tongue and the words you use that come out of your mouth. As usual, Wayne reviewed what we learned from the previous lesson before diving into Proverbs 15:1-3 KJV where we talked ab0ut a soft answer turns away wrath but grievous words stirs up anger. Is it okay to get angry?  Yes, God gets angry with sin but we should not use grievous words to stir up anger. Most often parents give a quick word to their children and that usually responds with an angry child.  We see in proverbs 15:4 that a wholesome tongue is a tree of life.  This lesson looks at the wisdom we find in each verse in proverbs 15.

The scripture reading was from Proverbs 15:26-33 (KJV) “26 The thoughts of the wicked are an abomination to the Lord: but the words of the pure are pleasant words. 27 He that is greedy of gain troubleth his own house; but he that hateth gifts shall live. 28 The heart of the righteous studieth to answer: but the mouth of the wicked poureth out evil things. 29 The Lord is far from the wicked: but he heareth the prayer of the righteous. 30 The light of the eyes rejoiceth the heart: and a good report maketh the bones fat. 31 The ear that heareth the reproof of life abideth among the wise. 32 He that refuseth instruction despiseth his own soul: but he that heareth reproof getteth understanding. 33 The fear of the Lord is the instruction of wisdom; and before honour is humility.”
