The elections in the United States are over and it may seem that America has voted in people that are in need of prayer. As it says in 1 Timothy 2:1-4, we are to pray for those that are in authority which was deemed a good thing to do: “ I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior;”. The lesson on November 9, 2008 continues the lesson by answering the question “Has God Abandoned America?”. The scripture reading for this lesson is in Romans 1:18-25. Last week we found an important point in answering this question, that America has to abandon God first for God to take this stance and we see many aspects of America’s abandonment of God in our society today.
