Lessons

The lesson on April 5, 2020 was part 50 of the “Genesis” study.  This week Wayne took us to Genesis 9 and introduced us to the Noahic Covenant God gave after the flood.  We learned of the Adamic Covenant which was the first covenant established of death by sin and the promise of the remedy through the seed of the woman.  These two covenants were given before the remainder of the covenants given to Abraham and Israel. The full list of Covenants include: Adamic, Noahic, Abrahamic, Palestinian, Mosaic, Davidic, and the New Covenant. The first two apply to everyone.  The remaining pertain to Israel.  The question was put forth “Have we taken the promises God gave originally to Israel?”.  Wayne takes the remainder of the lesson to explain how Christians today are trying to import portions of these covenants and try to apply them today in our age.  This is a misappropriation of scripture and ignores what was subsequently was given to us through PAul the prisoner in The Mystery which was revealed after Acts.  The Mystery does not pertain to any of the Covenants given to Israel.  The Mystery was hidden in God before the foundation of the world and when it was revealed gave us the answers that are for us today.  The scripture reading was from Genesis 9:9-12 KJV

“9 And I, behold, I establish my covenant with you, and with your seed after you; 10 And with every living creature that is with you, of the fowl, of the cattle, and of every beast of the earth with you; from all that go out of the ark, to every beast of the earth. 11 And I will establish my covenant with you; neither shall all flesh be cut off any more by the waters of a flood; neither shall there any more be a flood to destroy the earth. 12 And God said, This is the token of the covenant which I make between me and you and every living creature that is with you, for perpetual generations:”
