Lessons

The lesson on February 2, 2020 was part 41 of the “Genesis” study.  The lesson this week looked to clarify the contradiction found between scripture identifying the conditions of the last days. Since we are studying the days of Noah in chapter six of Genesis, this ties in with Matthew 24:37 “37 But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.”.  With the lesson today, we learn of that in order to make since of scripture, you have to use right division because when we study the last days in comparison to the days of Noah, we see the conditional state of Israel’s repentance was paramount before fulfilling the condition for the last days discussed during Acts and associated books that were written during that timeframe.The Apostle Paul during Acts was confirming the last days but then took a different position in 1 and 2 Timothy.  Why?  The repentance of Israel did not happen and God had a hidden purpose called the Mystery he revealed that was hidden before the foundation of the World, not hidden in Old Testament scripture.  This new body of truth allows the student of scripture to make complete since of the Word of God because it clearly answers the contradictions in scripture.  The scripture reading was from 2 Timothy 3:1-7 KJV

“1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. 2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, 4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; 5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. 6 For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, 7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.”
