Lessons

The lesson on June 9, 2013 was part 8 of the “Galatians” study and is in chapter 3.  Initially, the lesson reviewed the “faith of Christ” versus our “faith in Christ” as the primary source of failth for our salvation.  The Faith of Christ was constant, He never waivered all the way to the cross.  Our failth may waiver at times even though we may not admit it, it is always changing.  If we were to rest on our own personal faith for justification, it would be a terrible thing.  The faith of Christ is rock solid and is what our justification is based on.  A comparison between the Acts period basis versus the post Acts period basis explains how our basis has changed.  If you have your faith built on the wrong basis it will eventually impact your walk and those Christians have to change the scriptures to make things fit.  An analogy was used from the movie the Matrix.  Christianity has taken the blue pill, whereby they are living in a dream world with the wrong basis.  The red pill, once taken, opens your eyes to the current basis.  The scripture reading was in Romans 4:8-14 KJV “8 Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin. 9 Cometh this blessedness then upon the circumcision only, or upon the uncircumcision also? for we say that faith was reckoned to Abraham for righteousness. 10 How was it then reckoned? when he was in circumcision, or in uncircumcision? Not in circumcision, but in uncircumcision. 11 And he received the sign of circumcision, a seal of the righteousness of the faith which he had yet being uncircumcised: that he might be the father of all them that believe, though they be not circumcised; that righteousness might be imputed unto them also: 12 And the father of circumcision to them who are not of the circumcision only, but who also walk in the steps of that faith of our father Abraham, which he had being yet uncircumcised. 13 For the promise, that he should be the heir of the world, was not to Abraham, or to his seed, through the law, but through the righteousness of faith. 14 For if they which are of the law be heirs, faith is made void, and the promise made of none effect:”
