Introduction:
Sheol in the old testament has the same meaning as Hades in the new testament. You can see this by the following textual agreement:

David’s soul went to “sheol” (hell) but this word, when quoted in the new testament becomes “hades”. Since the soul is the living creature and the act of it going to sheol means death, we see that David died and awaits the resurrection. This abode of the dead is also called “hades” and as I trust you can determine from the list below is nothing more than “gravedom”.
A Complete Concordance of Sheol
In order for all to see for themselves I have given a complete concordance of the word “Sheol” — what I suggest you do is read each passage — look for the words sheol in the hebrew and hades in greek and obtain from the context the meaning of the word. There are 63 verses one form and 65 hits of the word “sheol”.
The above plot gives some indication of the distribution of the word and will facilitate research into areas of the Tenach where high/low density of usage indicates subject changes. Note for example that Isa. 14 and Ezek. 31 have 3 occurrences of the word.
