The Love of Christ. The lesson on February 12, 2006 is given by William Champion, who recently suffered a stroke which affected his speech and the ability to communicate. In retelling his story, he relates the experience to the call of a Christian to glory in the love of Christ. As we are reminded in Ephesians 3:19 (KJV) “And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God. Contrary to the love of Christ, were reminded of the lust of the flesh. This involves the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life which are at war with the New nature. It says in I John 2:15-17 (KJV) ”Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.” As we celebrate Valentines Day, let us remember that the love of Christ is the most important aspect of life and we should celebrate daily.
