Lessons

The lesson on July 27, 2014 was a message entitled “Flock and Fold” and was presented by Wayne Stewart after he had attended the 8th annual Reclaiming America for Christ Conference promoted by Paul Blair, Pastor of Fairview Baptist Church, Founder of Reclaiming Oklahoma for Christ and the Executive Director for Reclaiming America for Christ).  This conference had presentations Del Tackett, host of The Truth Project, and Frank Turek, author of “I Don’t Have Enough Faith to be an Atheist” and was held at the First Baptist Church in Moore, Oklahoma.  Dr. Stewart felt encouraged to teach this lesson on the issues we have been studying regarding the confusion we are dealing with regarding the beginning of the church that we are a part of today.  Dr. Stewart’s experience with his own growth as a Pastor has enabled him to teach the truth of right division and how it provides freedom in understanding scripture.  This lesson looks at body metaphor in 1 Corinthians 11:3 and 1 Corinthians 12:12 vs. the body that is described in Ephesians 2:13-16 KJV.  We also learn of the teaching around sheep and the shepherd and how that should be applied.  The scripture reading was in John 10:11-18 KJV

“11 I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep. 12 But he that is an hireling, and not the shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, seeth the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep, and fleeth: and the wolf catcheth them, and scattereth the sheep. 13 The hireling fleeth, because he is an hireling, and careth not for the sheep. 14 I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine. 15 As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep. 16 And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd. 17 Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again. 18 No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father.”
