Lessons

The lesson on April 6, 2014 was part 22 of the “Ephesians” study.  This lesson reviewed the three things taught from part 21.  Those were:  1) This ministry involves a readjustment to the newly (ACTS 28) created and un‐prophesied body of Christ. 2) There are 4 gifts to the church in verse 4:11.  There are 2 foundational and readable TODAY and there are 2 on going that exist TODAY!!; and 3) These gifts have a threefold purpose: A. Perfecting of the saints B. Work of the ministry, and C. Edifying of the body of Christ.  Then the lesson continued teaching that right division is the great antidote for the confusion that is in the church today.  The church today where Christ is the head and we are the body is new.  It is not an evolution of the church prior to Acts 28.  An example of a partially full bottle of Coca-Cola compared to a full bottle was given to explain 1 Corinthians 13.  The remainder of the lesson covered three new points.  These are: 1) The temple and body: a)Temple: is the structure, the edifice, hard and long lasting with Christ the chief cornerstone. b) The body has Christ as the head and needs unity to live and produce, each individual soft and with an old man.  2) Each member functions according to its purpose (measure).  3) The Body builds itself up in love. The scripture reading was in Ephesians 4:12-16 KJV “12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: 13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ: 14 That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; 15 But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ: 16 From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.”
