Genesis - Part 10

The lesson on April 7, 2019 was part 10 of the "Genesis" study and Wayne continued teaching us about how important free will and the sovereignty of God is in understanding scripture rightly divided.  Further he takes time out to look out how this refutes what the Calvinist believe.  Wayne also shows how God used the free will of Israel in how their unbelief hardened their heart and at the right time, God hardened their heart to allow an evil act like the suffering of the Messiah with the crucifixion of Jesus to happen as was prophesied in Isaiah 53,  This doctrine of free will and God's...

Genesis - Part 11

The lesson on April 14, 2019 was part 11 of the "Genesis" study.  Wayne summarized the focus on Free Will and God's sovereignty in how He does not cause sin or evil acts but once men choose to do evil, as God He then can further harden their heart until they perform an evil act but God can use it for good. For example we see "eyes have they closed" which was ordained by man! As the evil act gets closer, "eyes are further closed by God".  Then when the evil act happens it is ordained by God for use to His purpose.  We looked at Romans 5:12 and studied the phrase "for all have sinned" and...

Genesis - Part 18

The lesson on June 30, 2019 was part 18 of the "Genesis" study.  Wayne announced that we will be traveling the next three weeks for his summer break from his teaching responsibilities at University and left us with a lesson focused on the eternal life we have in resurrection.  Eternal life was given at the tree of Life in the Garden of Eden and the opposite of eternal life is perish.  We learned about how there is a voice in Greek and that is has three tenses.  An aorist tense which is a secondary tense, and accordingly, in the indicative mood it indicates passive action, there is active...

Theology Has Consequences

The message on September 30, 2018 was one of Theology Has Consequences.  When you look at the state of America in its embrace of the Social Justice Warriors, it is indicative of what has been lost in todays churches who have embraced social behavior in the place of what is taught in scripture.  When you look at a lesson from John MacArthur in how he explains the perspective of a person who is the way they are because of someone else...

The U, V and W of Right Division - Part 24

The lesson on August 6, 2017 was part 24 of "The U, V and W of Right Division".  Wayne opened up with some comments on current events, recognizing the failure of socialism and communism in Venezula but the moved onto Covenant Theology looking at the Covenant of Redemption, and how the Calvinist build their doctrine on, particularly around their five points represented by TULIP.  These are: "Total depravity", which means all people by their own faculties are morally unable to choose to follow God.  "Unconditional election" asserts that God has chosen from eternity those whom he will bring...

The U, V and W of Right Division - Part 31

The lesson on October 8, 2017 was part 31 of "The U, V and W of Right Division".  Wayne continues studying the error of the Calvinism and how the Calvinist use scripture that applies to the hardening of Israel out of context to try to support their positions.  We spend time looking at Romans 9 and exposing that we do have a free will that God gave us and then uses our free will to complete His purposes. Wayne takes us through Rom.

The U, V and W of Right Division - Part 25

The lesson on August 13, 2017 was part 25 of "The U, V and W of Right Division".  Wayne reviewed what was taught last week when we learned of Calvinism and their TULIP principles but he continued in this lesson to look at quotes from famous Calvinists and refutes their points by looking at what the scripture says.  In particular, we studied the term "Election" and looked how the Calvinist define it and what scripture says about it.  We also looked at Matthew 22 and learned how this passage helps in combating them scripturally.  The scripture reading was from Matthew 22:1-14 KJV

The U, V and W of Right Division - Part 32

The lesson on October 15, 2017 was part 32 of "The U, V and W of Right Division".  Wayne spent most of the lesson providing a recap of the Calvinism belief in Covenant Theology and how it is totally exposed through Right Division.  We looked at Jeremiah 18:1-10 with the example given that we are the clay, God is the potter but backed up to chapter 17 verse 23 to get the context in that this pertains to Israel and it showed they hardened their hearts, not God.  God then has the right to mold Israel into a new body that will perform his purpose.  The scripture reading was from Jeremiah 18:1-...

The U, V and W of Right Division - Part 26

The lesson on August 20, 2015 was part 26 of "The U, V and W of Right Division".  This lesson continued within Covenant Theology to look a the TULIP of Calvinism and studied further the ideas of Election and how Cavinist believe God has already determined who who would be elected thereby leaving those who are not saved as the reprobates.  Wayne looks deeper into the scriptures they use to bolster their beliefs, but through looking at the scriptures rightly divided, come to a proper understanding and refutes Cavinism.

The U, V and W of Right Division - Part 33

The lesson on October 22, 2017 was part 33 of "The U, V and W of Right Division".  Wayne spent time at the whiteboard exploring the subject of God's Will and man's free wheel in relation to the election we have "in Christ".  We went back to Genesis to see how God called the Nation of Israel and we learned from Deuteronomy 7, He chose them not because they were the largest but because they were small and He wanted to keep the promises he made to Abraham.  We looked at our own election in Ephesians 1:3.  We saw that God elected us out of those that were saved but we also saw in verse 13 how...
