The lesson on September 17, 2017 was part 30 of "The U, V and W of Right Division". This lesson looked at Romans chapter nine, which is where the Calvinist sets up camp and says "here it is"... what we learn is that the context of Romans 9 is not personal salvation but Israel because Romans 9 is in the middle of the Acts period. Wayne draws the context of the two hardening that occurred, the first was in the Gospels with God using their hardened heart to add on hardening that drove His purpose being accomplished at the cross.
The lesson on September 10, 2017 was part 29 of "The U, V and W of Right Division". The emphasis in this lesson was John chapter six and we focus on the hardening of Israel. We learn how there is the free will choices of those involved and after their own choices have made their hearts callased to Jesus and his calling for them, God then hardens their hearts to accomplish His purpose, not only in the Gospels with the rejection and death of His son, but also in the Acts period after Jesus was raised and presented but in the end they rejected their responsibilities so Paul pronounces their...
The lesson on September 3, 2017 was part 28 of "The U, V and W of Right Division". Wayne quickly recapped what was covered last week but moved into the eight signs found in John's gospel, particularly the fourth and fifth ones regarding the feeding of the 5000 and walking on water in John chapter six. Wayne explains how God allows free will for the people to show signs of disbelief, before He further hardens their hearts to accomplish His purposes. The scripture reading was from John 6:66-71 KJV
The lesson on August 27, 2017 was part 27 of "The U, V and W of Right Division". Wayne continues to teach against the Calvinism beliefs within Covenant Theology and this weeks lesson looked at the words "the called” in scripture, particularly at the passage in Romans 8:28. After a brief recap, we looked at the called in Romans and Wayne pointed out that Romans is an Acts epistle. The phrase "the called" is not in the prison epistles and we learned that the words apply to the nation of Isreal and he explains in the lesson.
The lesson on August 20, 2015 was part 26 of "The U, V and W of Right Division". This lesson continued within Covenant Theology to look a the TULIP of Calvinism and studied further the ideas of Election and how Cavinist believe God has already determined who who would be elected thereby leaving those who are not saved as the reprobates. Wayne looks deeper into the scriptures they use to bolster their beliefs, but through looking at the scriptures rightly divided, come to a proper understanding and refutes Cavinism.
The lesson on August 13, 2017 was part 25 of "The U, V and W of Right Division". Wayne reviewed what was taught last week when we learned of Calvinism and their TULIP principles but he continued in this lesson to look at quotes from famous Calvinists and refutes their points by looking at what the scripture says. In particular, we studied the term "Election" and looked how the Calvinist define it and what scripture says about it. We also looked at Matthew 22 and learned how this passage helps in combating them scripturally. The scripture reading was from Matthew 22:1-14 KJV
The lesson on August 6, 2017 was part 24 of "The U, V and W of Right Division". Wayne opened up with some comments on current events, recognizing the failure of socialism and communism in Venezula but the moved onto Covenant Theology looking at the Covenant of Redemption, and how the Calvinist build their doctrine on, particularly around their five points represented by TULIP. These are: "Total depravity", which means all people by their own faculties are morally unable to choose to follow God. "Unconditional election" asserts that God has chosen from eternity those whom he will bring...
