Introduction:

Last time we looked at the nature of how the annointing worked in the acts of the apostles and specifically the baptism which the Spirit of God performed and was active in. We noted that there is a complete correspondence between the events of 1Cor 12 and 1 Cor 10 where a baptism unto Moses was recounted. The connection to Israel and her spiritual things was made clear.

In this lesson we will examine the body at Corinth and its membership.

Introduction

Last week we looked at Chapter 5:1-8 - a chapter that has parallels in the book of Revelation. Under the figure of a "rod", Paul warns them of impending discipline unless they change (implied in the question "what will ye?") their conduct. The apostles gifts were awesome and powerful and to sin against the holy Ghost could be met with death as the punishment. (See Acts 5:1-11, 1 Cor. 11).

Are we seeing these things today in this age? Surely we must say "No!!" -- and if this is so why not? It has been our labour to show the reader why these things are not happenning today and give a full and clear explanation of the Biblical account without the admixture of man's philosophy or eisogesis. The momentous events around Acts 28 cannot be over emphasized and we as students of the scriptures must clarify and teach the contextual truths that bring to light the revelation given to PAul the prisoner.

Introduction:

Last time we looked at the fact that the cup of blessing used in the communion is likely something new to the passover feast. A tradition that was installed prior to Christ and which the Lord re-interpreted in light of the New Covenant. In this lesson we will take the discussion further as Paul takes us into teaching that can be best understood by the times then present.

Introduction

Last time we looked at 1 Cor.2:1-9. The passages have many applications and we can learn so much about ideas related to the wisdom of this world and its limitations. However, we need now to look at the more precise context of these passages if we are to understand the intent of the author and gain from them (the passages) what doctrine God intended to pass on to the believers lest we confound those things that differ. What "mystery" is Paul referring to? Those who deny the truth of the great divide of Acts 28 and its impact on the understanding of Paul's Acts books will also confound the mysteries. In this lesson we shall look at what the mystery of 1 Cor 2:7 is and obtain from the context a more precise understanding of Paul's intent and meaning.

The importance of the resurrection of Christ has many facets.  In today's talk we shall look at the topic of the logic of the resurrection of Christ.

The 2002 Northside Bible Church VBS Camp theme was “God’s Groceries”. The verse selected representing the theme was Philippians 1:11 (KJV) - “Being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ, unto the glory and praise of God.”

This theme allowed for bible lessons to be built around truths in scripture that could be identified with items found in a Grocery Store. For example, topics like milk, bread, fruit, and meat:

One Way . This lesson on July 13, 2003 is a recap of the Vacation Bible School that was held at Northside Bible Church. The theme of “One Way” was based on John 14:6 (KJV) “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” The analogy of road signs were used to identify certain truths in scripture so we could relate them to signs we would see while driving around town. A christian road map was used to take the kids on a journey to heaven and learn how to grow up as christins in the word of God along the way. A slide presentation was used along with the road map to relate road signs to scriptural truths. The journey is based on 2 Timothy 3:16 (KJV)

"Be a Spirtual Spud" Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head exclaimed!  They centered their message around the verse in Psalm 139:14 (KJV) “I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvelous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.”  They said we should honor God with our whole body. Mr. & Mrs. Potato Head want to share with you some scripture on praising God which they call “Spudly” Wisdom… using your body parts to praise God!  This material uses all the potato head body parts to highlight scripture as to how they may be used to glory God... and sometimes not.  It was a fun way to have children think of their Christian behavior.

Colossians 2:8-10 -"Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. For In him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:"

THE GREATEST DISCOVERY that any human being can make is the discovery of the ALL-SUFFICIENCY OF CHRIST, and the utter worthlessness of man without Him. Christ is all, and in Him we have all. Without Him we are nothing, absolutely nothing. It makes no difference how many times we multiply ciphers: they will be devoid of all magnitude or quality until we place some digit before them But once a digit is placed before them, they take on meaning, value, significance.
